The Kliemann lab recently gave its first poster presentation. BSURP program research assistant, Tyler Pham, presented on the virtual Visual Approach-Avoidance by the Self Task (VAAST), which looks at human tendencies to approach or avoid particular stimuli. This study was led by former lab manager Krista Roze, and focused on replicating the compatibility effect of the task in the virtual version with happy/sad faces, as well as evaluating how it is modulated by autistic tendencies and other socio-cognitive traits.
